Hi Friends and Family

Well it is officially June which means I am one month and ten days away from experiencing the trill of a lifetime in Europe.  I have been working so hard with preparations for my trip. For the next 6 weeks I will be in College Station doing even more preparations.  I am excited to say that the first country we are visiting where I have family living there. My parents are Turkish so I already knew the city of Istanbul. For those of you that don't know, Istanbul is one of the oldest cites in the world with a history that dates back almost 8,000 years. It was also the capital of three empires. I am very happy and excited to be able to use this knowledge to help me on this program. This blog will be my main way of keeping up with you all. Also be on the lookout for Instagram and Facebook photos of my trip. I can't wait to tell you about my adventures.

My name is Emre Yurttas. I am a Political Science major at Texas A&M University in College Station Texas. I have been given a unique opportunity to spend half of my summer in Europe as part of the Danube Summer Institute which is a faculty-lead study abroad program through the Political Science Department at A&M. I am very excited to be given this opportunity to go study in some of the best European cities. I will be visiting the following cities: Istanbul(Turkey), Berlin(Germany), Poznan(Poland), Vienna(Austria), Budapest(Hungary), and Prague(Czech Republic). The aim of going on this program is to learn about European Politics. I will be posting updates about my trip on this blog and look foward to keeping you updated about my adventures for the month of July and August when we will be there.
